Karl Dolk has been a licensed Certified Public Accountant since
1973. He provides management consulting services which include
financial analyses, management and investigative audits, disbursing
agent, trustee and other fiduciary responsibilities, and training.
He has been the court appointed Chapter 11 bankruptcy trustee
responsible for the turnaround or liquidation of several entities.
He was one of a team of three trustees responsible for the operation
and orderly liquidation of Executive Life Insurance Company.
Before entering private practice, Mr. Dolk served as the Deputy
Auditor General for the State of California, and was responsible
for investigative and financial audits including the first comprehensive
financial and compliance audit of the state. He also conducted
financial and management reviews both as an employee of and
consultant to KPMG Peat Marwick. He has also served as peer
reviewer for state and city audit organizations and for private
consulting firms.
Mr. Dolk is a member of the Sacramento Valley Bankruptcy Forum and a past President and Director of the organization. He has also served as a Director of the California Receivers Forum.
Mr. Dolk holds an MBA degree from California State University, Sacramento,
and a BS degree in Accounting from the University of California,
Berkeley.
Carol Penskar is a financial consultant, Excel whiz, and hands-on
CFO. She has more than 24 years of experience in financial planning,
banking and restructuring, and as a CFO with small and medium
size companies, both private and public. As a consultant, Ms.
Penskar has helped companies secure or replace credit facilities,
re-structure debt and complete mergers and acquisitions. As
a regular or contract CFO, she has managed all aspects of small
company finance, from accounting to human resources, to contract
administration. Clients have found her financial models uniquely
valuable for decision-making and answering what-if questions
about growth or re-structuring. With a strong accounting background,
Ms. Penskar has implemented accounting systems and managed outside
audit and tax work on behalf of her clients.
Early in her career, Ms Penskar was a Managing Consultant at
Towers, Perrin, and a Vice President and middle market commercial
loan officer with Bank of America. She then successfully combined
starting a family with her own financial and CFO consulting
practice. She also served as the Senior Vice President and CFO
of a software subsidiary of Fair, Isaac.
Ms. Penskar holds an MBA degree in Finance from the University of California
at Berkeley, where she was class valedictorian, and a BA degree in
Psychology from the University of Michigan.
Helen Marsh
Helen Marsh is an expert in training managers and leaders. Her
clients require training and development interventions in order
to overcome organizational blocks and achieve operational turnarounds.
Twenty-five years of human resource experience allows Ms. Marsh
to help clients design, develop and deliver training programs
and processes that enable managers and leaders to achieve short
and long-term business objectives.
She has designed and implemented corporate university programs
for Fortune 500 corporations, custom designed management and
leadership curriculum for seasoned managers, and developed skill-based
programs for managers new to their positions. Her client organizations
span private, public and nonprofit; they represent industries
including higher education, consumer products, transportation,
stevedoring and utilities.
Ms. Marsh is a member of the American Society of Training and
Development. She teaches at the University of California's Berkeley
Extension Program and is certified in multiple assessment instruments.
Ms. Marsh holds a BS degree in Education from Northern Illinois
University.
Gerald Muto
Jerry Muto has been a licensed Certified Public Accountant since
1974. He provides management consulting services which include
financial analyses, management and investigative audits, disbursing
agent, bankruptcy trustee, private trustee, court appointed
receiver and other fiduciary responsibilities. He has been the
court appointed Chapter 11 (reorganization) and Chapter 7 (liquidation)
trustee or examiner in numerous entities.
Mr. Muto has been appointed by the Superior Court to act as a referee in complex matters involving investigative work leading to disposition of disputes or business dissolution. He acts as a member of the Bankruptcy Dispute Resolution Advocate corps to resolve disputed matters outside of adversary trial actions.
Mr. Muto is the Treasurer of the California Bankruptcy Forum,
Sacramento Valley Chapter, and has held similar positions on
the California Receiver 's Forum, Sacramento Valley Chapter,
as well as being active in the community as an alternate dispute
resolution advocate. He has testified as an expert witness,
and is a published author and public speaker on business
matters and fraud prevention.
Mr. Muto holds a BS degree in Accounting, from the University
of Nevada, Reno, has attended law school and is an active pilot
holding commercial airplane and glider ratings as well as two
instructor ratings.
